These Plugin Shop Terms apply when you purchase, download or use any plugin, code product, digital guide, template, tutorial or related digital product from The Square Genius.

By purchasing a plugin from The Square Genius, you agree to these terms.
1. About our plugins
The Square Genius plugins are digital code based products designed for use on Squarespace websites.
When you buy a plugin, you are purchasing access to the relevant plugin code, installation instructions, supporting guidance and any included digital files.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, plugin purchases do not include installation, customisation, bespoke coding, website fixes, troubleshooting of unrelated website issues, or ongoing website support.
2. Instant access and digital delivery
Our plugins are digital products. Access may be provided immediately after purchase by download, email, customer account, order confirmation page or another digital delivery method.
By purchasing a plugin, you agree to receive immediate access to the digital product.
3. Refund and cancellation policy
Due to the instant access nature of digital products, refunds are not offered once the plugin, code, guide, file, tutorial or digital product has been accessed, downloaded, delivered or made available to you.
By completing your purchase, you give express consent to receive the digital product immediately and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once access begins.

Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refers to The Square Genius. “You”, “your” and “the client” refers to the person, business, charity, organisation or company purchasing or using our services.
2. Project acceptance
Before work begins, we will usually provide a written quote, proposal, estimate or scope of work.
A project is accepted when you:
Approve a quote or proposal in writing
Pay a deposit or initial invoice
Confirm by email that you would like to proceed
Book a service through our website or booking system
Ask us to begin workOnce a project has been accepted, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
3. Quotes and estimates
Quotes are based on the information provided at the time and are valid for the period stated on the quote. If no period is stated, quotes are valid for 30 days.
If the project changes, expands or requires additional work, we reserve the right to provide a revised quote or charge additional fees.
Any work outside the agreed scope will be quoted separately or charged at our current hourly or day rate.
4. Deposits and payments
A deposit or initial payment may be required before work begins. Unless stated otherwise, deposits are non refundable as they secure time in our schedule and cover initial planning, preparation and project setup.
Payment terms will be stated on your quote, proposal or invoice.
For larger projects, payments may be split into stages. Work may be paused if payments are late or outstanding.
Final files, website transfer, website launch, publication or handover may be withheld until all outstanding invoices have been paid in full.
5. Late payments
Invoices should be paid by the due date shown on the invoice.
If payment is late, we reserve the right to:
Pause work
Withhold files, assets, website access or website transfer
Delay launch or delivery
Remove unpaid work from live systems where appropriate
Charge reasonable late payment fees or interest
Cancel ongoing support or servicesLate payment may affect agreed project timelines.
6. Client responsibilities
To help us deliver your project smoothly, you agree to provide:
Clear feedback
Accurate information
Required content, images, copy, logins and assets
Timely approvals
Access to any platforms needed for the project
Copyright permissions for any materials you provide
A main point of contact for the projectYou are responsible for checking all content, spelling, grammar, links, legal information, pricing, contact details and final design details before approval, launch or publication.
We are not responsible for errors that remain after you have approved the work.
7. Content and materials supplied by you
You confirm that any text, images, videos, fonts, logos, graphics, documents, data, downloads or other materials you provide are either owned by you, licensed to you, or you have permission to use them.
You agree to indemnify The Square Genius against any claims, costs, losses or legal issues caused by materials you provide without the correct rights or permissions.
We may refuse to use any content that we believe is offensive, unlawful, misleading, harmful, discriminatory, inappropriate or likely to breach the rights of another person or organisation.
8. Project timelines
Any timeline or completion date given is an estimate unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Timelines depend on timely communication, content delivery, feedback, approvals and payment from you.
We are not responsible for delays caused by:
Late content
Delayed feedback
Missed payments
Changes to the project scope
Third party platforms
Technical issues outside our control
Illness, emergencies or events beyond our reasonable controlIf a project is delayed by the client for a significant period, we may need to reschedule the work and provide a revised timeline.
9. Design revisions and changes
Your quote or proposal will explain what is included in your project.
Unless stated otherwise, reasonable design revisions are included during the agreed review stage.
Revisions do not include a complete change of direction, a new concept, additional pages, new features, extra functionality, rewritten copy, additional SEO work, or work outside the agreed scope.
Additional changes may be charged separately.
Once a design, website, document, asset or piece of work has been approved, further changes may be treated as additional work.
10. Website design projects
For website design projects, we will provide opportunities for review and feedback during the project.
Once the website is ready for final review, you are responsible for checking the website carefully before launch or handover. This includes checking:
Text and page content
Images and graphics
Links and buttons
Forms
Contact details
Product information
Pricing
Legal pages
Mobile layout
General functionalityOnce the website is approved, launched or handed over, any further changes may be charged separately unless they relate to an error on our part.
11. Squarespace websites
Many of our websites are created using Squarespace.
You understand that Squarespace is a third party platform and is subject to its own terms, pricing, features, limitations and updates.
We are not responsible for:
Squarespace platform changes
Squarespace downtime
Squarespace pricing changes
Squarespace feature changes
Loss of functionality caused by Squarespace updates
Issues caused by third party integrations
Issues caused by code added by another person
Client changes made after handoverWhere custom code is used, we cannot guarantee it will continue to work forever if Squarespace changes its platform, structure or features.
12. Website ownership and transfer
Where a website is built under The Square Genius Squarespace account or Partner account, ownership will only be transferred to the client once all outstanding invoices have been paid in full.
Until full payment has been received, the website, design work, setup, structure, code, graphics and related materials remain the property of The Square Genius.
Once payment has been made in full, the agreed final website will be transferred or handed over as agreed.
The client is responsible for ongoing Squarespace subscription fees, domain fees, email fees, third party app fees and any other ongoing costs unless agreed otherwise in writing.
13. Training and handover
Website training may be provided as a live training session, recorded video tutorial, written guide, or a combination of these, depending on the project.
Training covers the agreed areas of the website and does not include unlimited future support, advanced Squarespace training, marketing training, SEO training, or support for unrelated website changes unless agreed separately.
14. SEO services
SEO work is carried out using reasonable care, research and best practice at the time of delivery.
However, search engine rankings are affected by many factors outside our control, including search engine algorithm updates, competitor activity, website history, content quality, technical issues, backlinks, user behaviour and ongoing website activity.
We do not guarantee specific rankings, traffic levels, enquiries, sales or results from SEO work.
15. Branding and logo design
For branding and logo design projects, the agreed final logo or brand files will be supplied after full payment has been received.
Unused concepts, draft designs, sketches, ideas, mockups and alternative designs remain the property of The Square Genius unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Once full payment has been received, the client may use the final approved logo and brand assets for their own business or organisation.
Raw working files are not included unless agreed in writing.
16. Copyright and intellectual property
Until full payment has been received, all work created by The Square Genius remains the property of The Square Genius.
Once full payment has been received, the client will receive the agreed usage rights for the final approved work.
The Square Genius retains ownership of:
Draft concepts
Unused designs
Working files
Creative ideas not selected
Custom code snippets created outside the final agreed deliverables
Processes, methods and systems
Pre existing templates, frameworks, plugins or tools
Any materials not specifically transferred in writingThe client must not resell, redistribute, copy, share or claim our work, code, templates, processes, plugins or systems as their own unless agreed in writing.
17. Third party tools, fonts, images and licences
Some projects may use third party tools, fonts, images, plugins, stock assets, software, integrations or platforms.
The client is responsible for any ongoing fees, subscriptions or licences unless agreed otherwise.
We are not responsible for third party tools changing, breaking, increasing their prices, becoming unavailable, or no longer being suitable for the client’s needs.
18. Portfolio and credit
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the client agrees that The Square Genius may:
Display the project in our portfolio
Share the project on social media
Use screenshots or visuals for marketing
Describe the work in case studies
Include the client name and project summary
Place a small credit link in the website footerFor websites, this may appear as a small line such as:
Website by The Square Genius
If the client would like this removed, this must be agreed in writing.
19. Confidentiality
We will treat confidential information shared with us with care and will not knowingly share it with third parties unless needed to deliver the project, required by law, or agreed by you.
You agree not to share confidential information, pricing, processes, documents, templates, training materials or project resources provided by The Square Genius without permission.
20. Support and maintenance
Support, maintenance, updates and troubleshooting are not included after project completion unless stated in the quote or agreed separately.
Any additional support may be charged at our current hourly rate, support package rate or quoted separately.
We are not responsible for maintaining, updating or fixing a website after handover unless an ongoing support agreement is in place.
21. Client changes after handover
Once a website, design or digital asset has been handed over, the client is responsible for any changes they make.
We are not responsible for issues caused by:
Client edits
Deleted content
Changed settings
Added code
Third party plugins
Broken links added after handover
Changed images or layouts
Other designers, developers or team members editing the workFixing these issues may be charged separately.
22. Cancellation by the client
If you wish to cancel a project, you must confirm this in writing by email.
If a project is cancelled, you will be invoiced for all work completed up to the cancellation date, including planning, design, development, admin, research, communication, strategy, meetings, purchases and any third party costs already incurred.
Deposits and initial payments are non refundable.
If the amount of work completed is greater than the amount already paid, the remaining balance will become payable.
If a project is delayed or inactive for more than 30 days due to lack of client communication, content, feedback or approval, we reserve the right to pause or close the project and invoice for work completed.
23. Cancellation by The Square Genius
We reserve the right to cancel or pause a project if:
Payment is overdue
The project scope changes significantly
The working relationship becomes difficult, abusive or unreasonable
The client does not provide required content, feedback or access
The client asks us to carry out work that is unlawful, unethical or against our values
We are unable to continue due to illness, emergency or circumstances outside our controlIf we cancel a project, we will invoice for work completed up to that point.
24. Refunds for services
Refunds are not provided for completed work, time already spent, strategy, consultations, design work, digital work, SEO work, custom code, installation work, or services already delivered.
If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss the issue and try to resolve it fairly.
25. Limitation of liability
The Square Genius will take reasonable care when providing services.
However, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential or financial loss, including loss of income, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, loss of rankings, loss of sales, website downtime, or reputational damage.
Any claim against The Square Genius will be limited to the amount paid by the client for the relevant service.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
26. Legal, compliance and website policies
The client is responsible for ensuring their website, content, business, products, services and policies comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Privacy policies
Cookie policies
Terms and conditions
Accessibility requirements
Consumer law
Data protection
Copyright law
Advertising rules
Charity regulations
Industry specific rulesWe may provide general guidance, layout support or draft wording, but this does not constitute legal advice. The client should seek professional legal advice where needed.
27. Accessibility
We aim to create websites that are user friendly and consider accessibility where possible.
However, unless accessibility testing or a specific compliance level is included in the agreed scope, we do not guarantee that a website will meet any specific accessibility standard.
28. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failure to deliver work caused by events outside our reasonable control.
This may include illness, emergencies, internet outages, platform issues, supplier delays, strikes, natural disasters, government restrictions, technical failures or other unexpected events.
29. Complaints
If you have a concern about our work or service, please contact us in writing so we can try to resolve the issue.
We will aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe and work with you to find a fair solution where possible.
30. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The version in place at the time you accept a quote, pay a deposit or book a service will usually apply to that project unless otherwise agreed.
31. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
32. Acceptance of terms
By accepting a quote, paying a deposit, booking a service, approving a proposal, or asking us to begin work, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
